More Great Sand Dunes

We left Great Sand Dunes this morning and are spending the night at an RV park in Denver.  Linda wanted to see her brother in law Chuck Hopwood and niece Kelli while we're here.  Tomorrow we move along to Rocky Mountain National Park.

Here are some more pictures of the Great Sand Dunes.  I didn't think people would be allowed to walk on the dunes.  But you can.  You can walk all over them and climb up them and slide down them.  The winds constantly change the dunes and erase any footprints that anybody leaves - over some time.  But it isn't easy walking and it is a real pull to climb because the soft sand provides no solid footing.  They are hundreds of feet deep.

The scenes remind me of pictures from the Mars Rover.  It is just weird.
